Kidney Week 2020: Fully virtual meeting
Dear Colleagues:
ASN has been honored to host the world's premier meeting in nephrology for more than 50 years. Last week, the ASN Council, City of Denver, and State of Colorado agreed that it is in the best interests of all involved not to hold Kidney Week in-person this fall. Kidney Week 2020 will be a fully virtual meeting.
While we have all enjoyed the various sites at which past annual meetings have taken place, Kidney Week has not succeeded because of a specific location. Kidney Week has progressed because:
- You have submitted your best work.
- You have embraced the work your colleagues submitted and presented.
- You have engaged with other professionals, students and trainees, and patients to create change in one of the most challenging areas of science and medicine.
ASN pledges to honor the decades of accomplishment you have created, and the commitment each of you has made this year to continue your focus on excellence in the face of great challenges. ASN Kidney Week 2020 will:
- Showcase your work to even broader audiences.
- Highlight the work of your colleagues worldwide in new and exciting ways.
- Extend the professional collaborations and exchanges that have long been a hallmark of participating in Kidney Week.
We will begin transmitting detailed information about ASN Kidney Week 2020 during the next weeks and months, and we promise to keep you fully informed.
We hope you will engage with us each step of the way, so that together we build an even stronger sense of community. As has been the case for each of the last 52 annual meetings, your participation will drive the success of ASN Kidney Week 2020.
Every member of the ASN Council, all the society's volunteer leaders, and the entire staff has committed to making ASN Kidney Week 2020 the most exciting educational experience in nephrology this year.
