Dear friends and colleagues,

We warmly invite you to attend the 8th edition of the tradition-rich International Pediatric Radiology (IPR) congress, which will be held in Rome, Italy from June 15 to 19, 2021. Since the inaugural IPR was convened in Toronto in 1987, the IPR has grown into a global event which outlines where paediatric radiology stands today, and envisions where it will lead in the future. Quite aptly, this edition’s motto, “Building on the Classics: History, Innovation and Inspiration” highlights the continuity of growth in knowledge in the pediatric imaging field.

All roads lead to Rome! Indeed, we invite not only members from the two organizing societies – the European Society of Paediatric Radiology (ESPR) and the Society for Pediatric Radiology (SPR) – but all paediatric radiologists and imaging specialists from every nation to Rome to liaise professionally, to meet old friends and to make new ones. In order to create a wide scientific platform, the scientific planning committee is putting together an exciting programme consisting of no less than 100 hours of activity that should satisfy everyone’s expectations. The programme will consist of the traditional Categorical Course as well as scientific sessions, sunrise sessions, and case discussions. As many as 250 free oral papers and electronic posters will be included. A special program for radiographers will also be available. Participants are warmly welcome to submit their abstracts to website, where updates about the scientific as well as social activities will be published once they become available.

Rome - The Eternal City - provides the most spectacular backdrop to the meeting with over two thousand years of art, culture and history. There is more to see and do in Rome than in any other city in the world. As a historic place, it is unsurpassed; as a contemporary European capital, it is utterly unique. Rome always exhibits its incomparable capacity for warmth and welcome, its taste for life and enjoyment. As the location of the IPR 2021 meeting, Rome will give participants that “plus” that no other place can really provide, and will certainly make their stay memorable.
