General information
- AACA 2022 welcomes all scientific papers that have never been published in indexed journals.
- All papers should be submitted through online submission system.
- The corresponding author must complete and submit a disclosure form for potential conflict of interest. A conflict of interest may exist when an author (or author's institution or employer) has financial or personal relationships or affiliations that could influence (or bias) the author's decisions, work, or abstract. The ICMJE Uniform Disclosure Form for Potential Conflict of Interest (www.icmje.org/conflicts-of-interest/) will be used. Your submission will not be considered final until disclosure information is complete.
- The corresponding author must confirm that the submitted research was approved by the author's affiliated institution's institutional review board (IRB). Abstracts that involve human studies must confirm that informed consent was obtained from each subject and/or legal guardian, or that waiver of consent was granted by the IRB.
- The organizing committee reserves the right to withdraw an abstract at any time

Dear Distinguished Colleagues and Friends,
On behalf of the Asian Australasian Regional Section (AARS) of World Federation of Societies of Anaesthesiologists (WFSA), I would like to extend a very warm welcome to the Asian Australasian Congress of Anaesthesiologists (AACA) in 2022.
This upcoming conference is not only exceptional in terms of the range and quality, but also in terms of the circumstances in which it is taking place. First, we need to acknowledge that this AACA 2022 will be in conjunction with the 99th Annual Meeting of Korean Society of Anesthesiologists and the 74th Annual Meeting for Korean Pain Society. Secondly, like many other international gatherings and conferences, there was some uncertainty of conducting offline conferences due to ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. However, we have spent the past several months working with conference committees, local partners, stakeholders and various policy experts to conduct a hybrid meeting. Like many other institutions and individuals, this has involved stress testing the platform, technology and protocols that will allow a conference of this size to function, and for its participants to present and participate for the whole conference.
There will exceptional sessions with well-known speakers and the best experts in the field. There will be engaging discussions and knowledge sharing not only from the speakers but also from the audiences. I believe the power of our collective endeavour and expertise will provide us with so many valuable insights for the new ways ahead.
I would like to thank my fellow AARS committee members, local organising committees from the Korean Society of Anaesthesiologists, and all distinguished colleagues, for their enormous work behind the scenes to ensure the delivery and success of this very important conference.
Lastly, this conference will bring people together at what is a very difficult time for us all, and I encourage your very active and enthusiastic participation: we have so much to learn from each other and continue to engage in global collaboration to help support one another.
