Submission Types

The presentation format for each abstract will be determined by the Scientific Program Committee. The types of presentations include the following:

• Proffered Paper Session
• Snap Oral Session
• ePoster Sessions

Abstract Notifications

Each first author (presenting author) will receive an email acknowledging receipt of the abstract after initiating a submission and after completing a submission. The first author (presenting author) will receive a letter of notification from the Program Committee regarding its decision by March 20, 2023.

Welcome

I am pleased to announce the 2023 American Brachytherapy Society’s Annual Meeting will be June 22 – 24 at the JW Marriott in Vancouver, British Columbia. Our Annual Meeting will be designed around the theme, "Delivering the Right Care for Everyone: Advancing Brachytherapy Access for All".

Mitchell Kamrava, our Scientific Program Chair, along with Co-Chair Beth Anderson, is putting together a very enriching and stimulating program focused on generating awareness on advancing brachytherapy access for all. I promise an exciting meeting where we will step out of established conventions and shake things up. . Hands-on educational opportunities will be provided, interactive sessions with experts working through cases will be offered, CME will be included free of charge, technologies will be showcased, controversy will be embraced, and fun will be had. It’s time to showcase the tried and true which have been the cornerstone of our profession from its inception. We will again offer the Judith Stitt Best Abstract Awards highlighted in the plenary session. The Resident Travel Awards will continue to encourage resident involvement and the Henschke award will be presented, and of course, our Industry Partners will be present over the course of the meeting to demonstrate state-of-the-art equipment, software, and services of value to radiation oncologists practicing in this field of medicine. Be prepared as this year is going to be one to remember.

We hope that you will join us. The meeting will offer a tremendous educational experience as well as a chance to relax along with our international colleagues, we invite you to participate in an incredible worldwide gathering of leaders in the field of brachytherapy.

New this year! The ABS is offering a group discount rate of 10% off the annual conference registration ($900) for 3or more registrations falling under the Regular Active Member and Regular Active Non-Member category. Registrants are required to be employed by the same company. If the company has multiple domains, please email Executive Director, Melissa Pomerene. If a registrant is registering under the Non-member Regular category, 10% will be taken off the $900. This offer does not apply to students, new lawyers, or associate categories.

Group Package Substitution Policy: Group package registration substitutions are only permitted between registrants with the same membership status who are employed by the same company and possess the same e-mail address domain. There is no service fee for name change substitutions if the payment information stays the same. However, a US $150 service fee will apply to any substitutions requiring payment changes.

Registration fees include all education sessions; CME Credit; evening receptions on Thursday, breakfasts on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, and breaks on Thursday, Friday and Saturday. ABS does not provide a refund if an attendee chooses not to participate in any of the functions included with their registration fees.

Guests Pass: Registrants may register for a guest pass for $250 USD per person. The fee includes access to the Thursday evening reception, breakfasts on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, and breaks on Thursday, Friday and Saturday. The guest pass does not include access to educational sessions.
