ABSTRACT SUBMISSION GUIDELINES:

• Abstracts are to be submitted electronically via the online submission system by November 24, 2022 (JST). Abstracts received after the deadline will not be accepted and therefore will not be considered for the program.
• Authors may submit more than one abstract. However, subject to program space, not all abstracts may be accepted.
• Encore abstracts will be accepted.
• Authors of all accepted abstracts are expected to register for IGCC 2023 and pay the meeting registration fee. They are also encouraged to pay their IGCA dues.
• Abstracts can be amended in the online submission system until the submission deadline November 24, 2022 (JST).
• All successfully submitted abstracts will be reviewed by the IGCC 2023 Program Committee, who will consider its formal aspects and content, and may reconsider the pre-selected presentation type.
• All accepted abstracts will form part of the final program and will be presented onsite as well as published in the official congress proceedings and congress app/website.
• All presenting authors are obliged to register. Those who do not register for the Congress and complete payment of the registration fee by the deadline will be automatically withdrawn from the final program.
• Abstract authors are also required to provide Institutional Review Board (IRB) approval (if applicable) and disclosure of financial relationships at the time of submission (e.g. grants, fees from private companies, shares, paid positions).

GENERAL ABSTRACT REQUIREMENTS

Language: English

Title: The title should be entered in upper case and is limited to 100 characters. Abbreviations may not be used in the title. Use generic product names in the title.

Authors: Up to 20 authors can be submitted under one abstract (including presenting author). The presenting author is entered first; other authors can be added only after the presenting author is entered. However, the order of authors can be changed if needed by swapping the names in the list of the co-authors.

Maximum Length: 2,000 characters, excluding the title or spaces.

ABSTRACT BODY

All abstracts must be structured as follows.

Introduction
The introduction should be 2 or 3 brief sentences describing the objectives of the study.

Methods
A description of the methods used to conduct the study must be included (e.g.,retrospective review, prospective trial). Detailed descriptions of laboratory techniques should not be included. Do not mention the institution where the work was performed in the body or title of the abstract.

Results
The results should occupy one-half to two-thirds of the abstract, and include specific data necessary for evaluating the abstract. If there is reason to believe that additional data would enhance the abstract, then please strongly consider including them. Statements such as “data will be discussed at the presentation” are grounds for disqualification.

Conclusions
The conclusion should be no more than 2 or 3 sentences describing the significance of the results in the context of the original objectives.

• Please have your abstract checked for spelling, punctuation, grammar and formal structure.
• The organizers reserve the right to edit abstracts if necessary prior to publication.
• The abstract may be supplemented with one figure or table.

The 15th International Gastric Cancer Congress will be held in June 2023. We are extremely honored to have the privilege of organizing the 15th meeting of this hallowed congress.

Treatment for gastric cancer has been dramatically transformed in recent years by the evolution of minimally invasive approaches and drug therapy. Minimally invasive personalized care will likely soon be within our reach through the advancement of various treatment modalities such as combination of endoscopic therapy—whose range of application to early cancers is gradually expanding—with sentinel lymph node biopsy. The successful performance of Japan’s first laparoscopic gastrectomy in 1991 helped to solidify the foundation for minimally invasive surgery in early cancer treatment, and the role of this approach has since then expanded to include advanced cancer therapy. Also, robot-assisted surgery has been a powerful tailwind for the application of minimally invasive surgery to advanced cancer, and the year 2023 promises to bring further diversification of surgical robots. IGCC 2023 will provide us with the opportunity to not only share the latest insights on the ever-evolving world of gastric cancer care, but also lay the groundwork for the forthcoming realization of completely curative, minimally invasive personalized treatment of gastric cancer.

We also plan to hold the Upper GI Summit – EGJ Cancer Consensus Conference during IGCC 2023. While advances in multimodal therapy have helped to increase successful outcomes for esophago-gastric junctional cancer, the strategies for that approach have become increasingly diverse, and the views of what constitutes the optimal strategy vary among countries and institutions. This conference will bring together EGJ cancer experts from around the world to present their positions while exploring the latest opinions on clinical questions in surgery, medical oncology, and endoscopy, with the aim of working toward a consensus for the year 2023.

Registration Fee

• Online credit card payment is only available (we do not accept cash even for participation in person).
• All listed fees include local consumption tax of 10%.
• All the participants will have access to the program / abstracts in PDF data (to be announced few weeks before the congress).
  Participants who will attend in person can receive the program booklet at the venue.
• Please make sure to pay your registration fee before the deadline applicable for the selected registration type. If your payment is not received in due time, the latter fee will be automatically applied.
• Unpaid or partially paid registration will not be considered as valid until fully paid.
• All registration deadlines are applicable considering the local time (JST).
