Abstract Guidelines

• Abstracts must be no longer than 400 words.
• Do not include your title or author list in the body of the abstract as these will be added separately.
• Abstracts and titles must be submitted in English.
• Tables can be included in the abstract text but will be included in the word count.
• Figures and images will not be accepted by the submission system.
• IMPE 2023 does not accept encore abstracts – any abstract previously presented at another congress will need to include new data and be re-written for consideration for IMPE 2023.
• At least one author from every accepted abstract must register to attend IMPE 2023.

June 2021

We all continue to navigate the challenges posed by the Covid-19 pandemic and now with vaccination programmes being launched throughout the world we are hopeful that we will be able to meet again in the future at events like the International Meeting of Paediatric Endocrinology (IMPE).

Unfortunately, the global situation continues to change rapidly and has not yet given us enough clarity on when international travel may be able to resume, nor when our communities may be able to secure study leave during these challenging times. We must therefore consider how appropriate it would be to continue to plan for a major international congress in Buenos Aires in March 2022.

During the recent ICPE meeting, a number of options were discussed and it was proposed that ICPE members ask their society whether postponing the event later into 2022 or further into 2023 would be the best course of action.

The resounding decision from the societies was that we should indeed postpone, whilst ensuring that we are mindful of other society/association meetings that may be taking place. Therefore, we can confirm that IMPE 2022 in Buenos Aires, Argentina will now most likely take place in the first semester of 2023 (exact date to be confirmed).

This decision is disappointing for us all as we had very much hoped IMPE 2022 would be one of the first opportunities to reconnect with colleagues from around the world. However, we continue to be realistic to the situation we are collectively facing and want to make sure that our highly respected international meeting is able to welcome as many people as possible, as safely as possible.

Our team is working in collaboration with the venue, hotels and other suppliers to secure the best possible date for this important and exciting meeting and we will update you as soon as we have more information.
