Each author must have an ACS record to be included on the author string of a submission. Before the submission deadline—March 1, 2024—all authors must 登录/log in or select 新用户/“New User” to create a record. Creating an account does not constitute joining ACS membership and incurring dues.
Abstracts or videos may be submitted for the following Clinical Congress programs:
What Should Be Submitted?
A 250-maximum word abstract that presents a concise summary of hypothesis-testing research—either completed or in progress—that has not been presented elsewhere or previously accepted for publication. Case reports will not be accepted and will be removed from the committee’s review. Revisions are not accepted after the deadline, including changes to the author/co-author order.
Please review the Scientific Forum Submissions Guidelines before submitting your abstract.
Accepted abstracts will be selected for ONE in-person presentation:
- Oral presentation: 8-minute presentation within Scientific Forum sessions
- Quick-shot presentation: 3-minute presentation within Scientific Forum sessions
- e-Poster: 3-minute presentation within the e-Poster sessions
Submitters should designate at the time of submission which of the presentation methods they prefer for presenting their research at Clinical Congress (if their abstracts are accepted).
Publication
Accepted abstracts will be published in a supplemental issue of the Journal of the American College of Surgeons (JACS).
Top-scoring abstracts will be invited via email to submit a full manuscript to JACS for expedited review. Manuscripts accepted during the expedited review process will be published in a special edition of JACS. If you are invited to submit a manuscript for expedited review, you will receive an invitation in May with a submission deadline of July 1.
