Presidents Welcome
I am incredibly excited on behalf of the Association of Surgeons of Great Britain and Ireland (ASGBI), to extend a warm welcome to the vibrant and historical city of Belfast for ASGBI 2024 International Surgical Congress!
Our congress, 8th to the 10th of May 2024, promises to be an exceptional event, bringing together the finest minds in surgery from all corners of the globe. Our theme, "Excellence - Collaboration - Inclusion," reflects the core values that underpin our dedication to advancing the art and science of surgery, in a welcoming, collaborative and inclusive environment.
For 2024, working on the success of Training Village and Breakfast Academy, we plan a portfolio of bespoke pre-congress courses, including ATLS! We are delighted to present a comprehensive programme that encompasses cutting-edge research, state-of-the-art invited lectures and many hands-on training opportunities.
The congress's scientific sessions will cover a wide range of surgical areas, providing a platform for sharing knowledge, discussing innovations, and addressing the challenges faced in our ever-evolving field.
We have a fabulous Local Organising Committee and strong links with the Royal College of Surgeons of Ireland, ensuring our programme showcases the incredible talent in the island of Ireland.
So, to those ASGBI members, early registration will start in November 2023, make best use of your membership benefits, and to those non-members, come and join us! Together, let’s chart a course towards Excellence, embrace Collaboration, and ensure Inclusivity in all that we do.
Kindest wishes
Gill Tierney
