Dear Friends and Colleagues,
It is our pleasure to invite you to join us in the vibrant city of Washington, DC on October 17th – 19th, 2024 for the 16th Annual Scientific Meeting of ISHA – The Hip Preservation Society.
The theme of the ISHA 2024 Meeting will be "Hip Health: Bridging Innovation and Preservation", which aims to underscore the importance of innovation whilst emphasizing the ultimate goal of maintaining and improving hip health through prevention, early detection and preservation. The focus will be on the future and on emerging technologies and directions, looking at what people who are specialized and focused on hip preservation are doing at the leading edge of what can be done, and thinking about what surgeons will be doing in the next 10-20 years.
The broad topic areas are:
1. The future of labral preservation and treatment
2. Hip instability - new frontiers in assessment and treatment
3. Extra-articular hip pathology (GTPS, IFI, deep gluteal pathology, hip-spine syndrome, hamstring pathology) - new frontiers in assessment and treatment
4. Biologics and articular cartilage - where do we go from here?
5. Technology - innovations in AI, VR, AR and imaging
6. Patient specific focus
ISHA’s first full meeting in North America since 2016 promises to offer something for everyone, from arthroscopic and open hip surgeons, to sports medicine professionals, to scientists and researchers, to allied health professionals. ISHA is always looking to broaden the hip preservation family, and this year, in addition to the popular Physiotherapy Program, we will be looking to offer a dedicated program especially for Physician Assistants.
Outside of the Scientific Program, there will, of course, be plenty of opportunities to get to know one another and further develop the friendships and connections that are such a special part of this Meeting.
ISHA's vision as a Society is a world where hip joint replacement is only an occurrence of old age – come and help us work towards making that future a reality.
All best wishes,
Dr Andrew B Wolff
