Categories:
- Scientific abstracts
Presentations that fulfill the following structure: Introduction, Methods, Results & Conclusions. This category of papers should be unpublished and NOT presented at National and International meetings, submitted by the deadline and without revealing the name of the city, institution submitting the abstract. They are evaluated in a blinded fashion.
- Free abstracts
These presentations can be: Cases and Case series, Techniques or others ( history, terminology, etc) and have a free structure.
- Electronic poster (E-poster)
These presentations will be presented on a large computer screen. Your E-poster can consist of multiple slides or just one slide. it is suggested to those interested to send the summary and if the poster is accepted , the corresponding ppt.
- How do I do it?
Submitters are invited to show some significant aspect of the diagnosis and treatment of daily care practices in front of an audience in a face-to-face setting. In addition to submitting the title, they may also prepare a short video of maximum 5 minutes of duration that will be projected in a video gallery.
- «Editorial reviews»
A 500 words max comment related to any published paper which the submitter considers worthy to be discussed with the top expert Faculty. The submission is not to be structured in introduction, methods, results and conclusions, but it must be in English and include the reference of the related work (link). Submitters are invited to upload a short video together with the written comment.
Guidelines for Abstract Submission
All professionals dedicated to venous and lymphatic care from around the world are encouraged to submit abstracts to the Buenos Aires UIP World Congress 2025. Fellows and residents are also encouraged to submit their research work.
Submissions must comply with the following requirements:
General Submission Guidelines
- Language: English is the official language for all submissions.
- Submission Platform: Use the official UIP congress portal for all entries. https://uipbuenosaires.com/abstracts/
- Registration Requirement: Presenting authors must register for the congress to confirm participation.
- Compliance: All submissions must adhere to the Vancouver authorship agreement. Maximum of 8 authors from single-center reports and more than 8 in case of multicenter studies.
- The presenter’s name should be underlined on the abstract for easy identification.
- Abstract sub headers must include the full name of author(s) and professional credential(s), the full name of any/all co-author(s) and corresponding professional credential(s), institution and country of origin.
- Topics: Superficial venous disease, Perforating veins, Telangiectasia and reticular veins, Deep venous disease, Pelvic venous disorders, Venous thromboembolism, Ulcer and wound care, Diabetic foot, Lymphatic disease, Lipedema and lypodistrophya, Malformations, Arterial disease, Miscellaneous.

- Deadline: Abstracts must be submitted by the presenting author no later than July 8, 2025 for Structure Scientific Abstracts and September 22, 2025 for the Free Abstracts, Editorial reviews, E-posters and How do I do it? presentations.
- Presentation: All submissions will be 5-minute presentations, given from the Podium, and must be given in English. In case of e-posters, they will be displayed digitally in key congress areas and authors will be invited for a 2 minute Q&A session with evaluators.
Submission rules according to Categories:
- Structured Scientific Abstracts
Purpose: To present unpublished, structured research that advances vascular and lymphatic knowledge. Accepted abstracts will be published in the International Angiology Journal. The best paper will receive a prize of U$D 1000 awarded by the International Angiology Journal.
Rules:
Abstract structure:
– Introduction: Briefly describe the hypothesis or relevance of the study.
– Methods: Provide detailed information on the study design, analytical techniques, and statistical methods.
– Results: Summarize findings without interpretation.
– Conclusion: Conclusions must be based on the presented data and free from speculation.
Originality: Work must be unpublished and not previously presented.
Word Limit: 500 words (excluding title and references).
Blinded Review: Avoid revealing institutional or author details in the abstract text.
Evaluation: Independent, blinded review by 5–7 committee members. Scored on relevance, objectivity, methodological rigor, originality, and scientific value.
- Free Structured Informative Abstracts
2.a) Free Abstracts Sessions
Purpose: To present case studies, innovative techniques, or exploratory concepts in a flexible format.
Free abstracts Sessions may include:
– Case reports or series.
– Innovative diagnostic or treatment techniques.
– Historical or terminological discussions.
Rules:
Abstract Structure: Introduction, Methods (if applicable), Results and Conclusion.
Word Limit: 500 words.
2.b) “How Do I Do It?” Sessions
Purpose: To share practical techniques or innovative approaches in vascular diagnosis or treatment.
Rules:
Abstract Structure: should summarize the key message of the presentation including step-by-step instructions or procedural insights.
Word Limit: 500 words. Presenters must prepare visuals (e.g., videos or interactive slides) to accompany their presentation.
2.c) Editorial Reviews
Purpose: To discuss evidence-based topics, focusing on key challenges, controversies, or emerging trends in vascular or lymphatic care.
Rules:
Abstract structure: Must include: Overview of the topic, including its significance.
Evidence review (with proper citations).
Discussion points or questions for further debate.
Word Limit: 500 words.
2.d) E-Posters
Purpose: To showcase findings through high-impact visual presentations displayed on large digital screens.
Rules:
Submit a supporting abstract (500 words max) alongside the e-poster (same abstract structure as Free Abstracts Sessions). Posters must be in VERTICAL TOTEMS format 16:9 and meet the following criteria:
Font size: Minimum 18pt (Arial or equivalent).
High-quality images or charts.
File size: Maximum 20 MB PDF or PPT format.
