Notifications
Notification emails will be sent from AAN@mirasmart.com to the first author on the abstract submission at the end of January. Please check your spam or junk folder in case the email is marked as spam by your provider. Contact Katie Anderson if you have not received your notification email by early February. As abstract presenters, first authors will receive an extension code for the Annual Meeting early registration rate.
Accepted abstracts will be released to the public on Thursday, March 5, 2026. All authors must adhere to the AAN’s embargo policies. Abstracts accepted to the Annual Meeting can be presented at another conference as long as the abstract has not been selected for AAN press release.
Presentation
Accepted abstracts must be presented in person at the Annual Meeting, and meeting registration is required. An individual can present a maximum of five abstracts, and no more than two abstracts in platform sessions. The AAN's Science Committee makes the final decision of approval, abstract assignment, and presentation type based on scientific merit and program considerations. Authors will be allowed to designate a new presenter after the notification emails are sent out.
Withdrawals
Withdrawal requests are permitted until April 10, 2026. However, depending on when the request is made, not all withdrawals may be reflected in print or online publications.
Withdrawal requests should be submitted to Katie Anderson and include the abstract title, ID number, presenter’s name, and reason for withdrawal. Authors not notifying AAN staff of withdrawal, notifying AAN staff after April 10, 2026, or not providing a sufficient reason for withdrawal will be subject to sanctions.
