A. General Policies

1. Abstracts must be submitted in English before June 15, 2026.
2. Notifications of acceptance will be sent to presenting authors by the end of August 2026. Scheduling details and instructions for oral and poster presentations will be included with this correspondence.
3. One of the authors whose abstract is accepted must register for the Congress by September 30, 2026 (early fees will still apply). Failure to do so will result in exclusion from the program and no publication in the book of abstracts.
4. Only the name of the presenting author will appear in the final Congress program.
5. Only one presenter per free communication is allowed.
6. Previously published work will not be reviewed.
7. Submissions not conforming to established guidelines will not be reviewed.

B. Abstract Content

Abstracts will include the following sections:

• Objectives – stating concisely why the study was conducted;
• Methods – indicating the location, number and type of human/nonhuman subjects;
• Results – confirming or refuting the hypothesis, supported by statistics if appropriate;
• Conclusions – stating the effect of the study on patient management, on our understanding of basis processes within the organism or the way in which we teach students or patients. Abstracts stating merely that the results will be presented or discussed are considered uninformative and will be subject to rejection.

C. Submission Procedures

Authors must submit their abstracts online.
Abstract Submission Instructions:

1. Click here to enter the system.
2. If this is the first time you log on the EPNV abstracts platform, please click « Create new account ». This account will allow you to access the platform to edit and submit your abstract(s)!
3. Follow the procedure to create your account and password.
4. You are now on the home page of the platform. Click on « Details » and follow the procedure.
5. Now all the options appear in the main menu and you will be able to submit your abstract. Click on « Abstract submission »
6. Enter the title of the abstract, your preferred presentation method (oral, eposter or either), and the details of your co-authors, the affiliations.
7. Enter your abstract. Max. words: 250
8. Click Proceed and review the abstract submitted.
9. Click « Submit » to submit your abstract or « save as a draft ». Please remember to submit you draft(s) before the deadline (June 15, 2026) otherwise the Reviewing Committee will not be able to review it.

Correspondence: all correspondence concerning the abstract will be sent to the presenting author.
The Scientific Committee reserves the right to reassign submissions.

D. Abstract Format

• Abstract title must be in CAPITAL letters. Do not indent. Title should be concise and indicate the content of the abstract.
• Abstract text must be single-spaced and justified at the left margin only. Do not leave blank lines between paragraphs.
• The use of tables, graphs and other types of images in abstracts is discouraged. Should you need to add tables and figures please upload them at the same time as the abstract submission.
• Use standard abbreviations. Place special or unusual abbreviations in parentheses after the full term the first time it appears.
• Proofread carefully before submitting. Abstracts will not be edited.

Dear Colleagues and Friends,

The 18th European Conference on Pediatric and Neonatal Mechanical Ventilation (EPNV) will be held again in Montreux, Switzerland, as the Conference Center in Montreux, our usual meeting place!

As in previous years, thematic sessions of EPNV will include lectures by key experts and well-known speakers on various topics related to respiratory support and respiratory failure in newborns and children.

We will continue to emphasize free paper and E-poster presentations offering young pediatricians, neonatologists, pediatric intensivists, pediatric anesthetists, a multidisciplinary forum where they can present their research and share their clinical experience with all participants. In addition, according to our strong commitment to education, we will offer again a series of pre-congress workshops that will focus on very practical bedside issues.

We are inviting you to participate and to make this 18th European Conference on Paediatric and Neonatal Mechanical Ventilation once more a high standard event and a tremendous success.
